Course Description
Welcome to this fully online self-paced Continuing Education experience. What follows are recordings of the lectures associated with the Bible and the Gospel undergraduate course here at Cedarville University. Plan on taking some time to view and interact with the rich content within the videos. The optional course materials are provided as supplemental resources to further your learning.
Each module includes formative self-assessments that allow you to measure your own learning. You will need to attain a minimum score (posted in each assignment) to continue to the next segment. Multiple attempts are available.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the required elements of this Continuing Education experience, you should be able to:
- Communicate to others about engaging with the Bible and the Gospel.
- Further appreciate the richness of God's Word.
Structure
This Continuing Education experience is structured so that participants can progress through the modules by following suggested engagement routines.
- WATCH. You are asked to watch the video(s) associated with each topic. These are course lectures and are presented as such.
- ENGAGE. Actively engage with the content of these videos. Take notes, pause and rewind if necessary.
- REFLECT. These videos and modules are not intended for "binge-watching." We encourage you to watch and reflect on the content of each video and module.
- SUBMIT. Each module consists of one or more assessments to gauge your own learning. Additional details are provided as prompts to frame participant submissions.
Requirements
Required Text and Materials
- A copy of The Bible. (English Standard Version [ESV] is used for the lectures; however, you may use a different modern translation [e.g., CSB, NET, NIV, TNIV, KJV, NKJV, NLT, NASB].)

Assessment & Grades
Workshop Assessment:
There is no instructor assigned to this experience. The formative assessments will give you a good idea about how you are doing on each assignment. You should be able to provide a fairly complete answer to each from memory.
About this project:
Made up of five areas of focus — The Bible and the Gospel, Old Testament, New Testament, Theology I, and Theology II — these Continuing Education enrichment experiences stretch participants to think about God, His Word, and His world in whole new ways and encourage them to apply Scripture to all areas of their lives.
